Squiggy is a special needs pug looking for his happily-ever-after.
He has Mega Esophogus.

Squiggy has had Mega Esophagus (ME), an incurable but manageable congenital disease, since birth.  ME is a defect in the esophagus - he doesn't have the full ability to swallow his food and have it successfully reach his stomachs. ME dogs eat prescription dog food made into special “kibble” meatballs, and are fed twice daily in a specially designed Bailey Chair. The key to successfully managing this disorder is the dog MUST remain upright in their Bailey Chair for 30 minutes after each meal. Gravity, and being in this upright position, guides the food to the stomachs. Meds are also used to treat the symptoms.

ME dogs are at high risk for aspiration pneumonia if not properly managed. They can ONLY be fed their prescription food and given water. in their Bailey Chairs. There are absolutely no exceptions to this as straying from this care could result in serious complications or death.

Other than these feeding requirements and the related risks, this boy is 100% pug. He is crate trained and  housebroken and great with older children (10+) and other dogs. A fenced in yard is preferable because this guy LOVES to run. *Outdoor time must be 100% supervised to ensure he doesn't eat grass, sticks, or anything off the ground.  This is important inside the home as well.

Yeah. Seems like a lot, right? But look at this face. There are some specific requirements for this boy, but we think he's worth the effort.
